Frequently Asked Questions

In our RA Strength, you’ll lift smarter and build lasting strength through a balanced mix of TRX suspension training, bodyweight work and resistance exercises. Around 60% of the 50-minute session is dedicated to TRX, with the remainder split between dumbbells, kettlebells and varied cardio bursts.

Our sessions are crafted for controlled muscle fatigue while protecting your joints. You’ll move through well-structured sequences that develop strength, stability and endurance, guided by trainers who are skilled in modifying form and technique so you get the most out of every workout.

Strength training (also called resistance training) is exercise geared to build muscle and increase physical strength by working against external resistance (weights, machines, bands or your own bodyweight). It’s fundamental to fitness because it can:

  • Preserve lean muscle mass. Muscle naturally diminishes with age, something that leads to a higher body fat percentage if left unaddressed. Strength training helps you maintain and enhance muscle mass at any stage of life.
  • Manage chronic conditions. This training can ease the symptoms of arthritis, obesity, back pain, depression, heart disease and diabetes.
  • Build stronger bones. Placing healthy stress on your bones through resistance work increases their density and lowers the risk of osteoporosis.
  • Improve everyday movement. Developing muscle supports joint health, enhances balance and lowers the risk of falls, so you can stay active and independent as you age.
  • Support weight management. Strength training can help you maintain or lose weight, while boosting your metabolism so you burn more calories throughout the day.
  • Boost cognitive health. Research suggests that consistent strength and aerobic training can improve thinking and learning skills, especially in later years.

TRX, short for Total Resistance eXercise, is a form of suspension training developed by former Navy SEAL Randy Hetrick. It uses a system of adjustable straps with handles that allows you to leverage your body weight for resistance, train through three dimensions of movement and work several muscle groups at once.

TRX workouts offer a ton of physical and health benefits. You can:

  • Build total-body strength by working against gravity. Suspension training activates muscles you may not engage in your everyday routine and boosts weak areas so you can achieve more balanced, functional strength.
  • Improve stability and posture. Because TRX exercises demand core engagement in every move, they enhance one of your most important physical functions, stability, which supports better alignment and posture over time.
  • Boost metabolism and energy levels. Regular TRX sessions can raise your heart rate and improve cardiovascular fitness. Even shorter workouts can have you breathing harder and feeling the benefits.
  • Target multiple muscle groups in one session. From your core and arms to legs, glutes and back, TRX is great for all-around toning.
  • Train without straining your joints. The low-impact nature of suspension training allows you to build strength and endurance without unnecessary pressure on your joints.
  • Enhance flexibility, balance and coordination. TRX movements challenge your body to move more efficiently, improving overall mobility and control.
