Hi there, I’m SD.

I’ve lived across three continents and worn many hats, yet one constant has always grounded me: movement. My own journey with movement has been one of exploration, and I encourage my clients to approach it with the same curiosity, aiming to make it a permanent part of their lives.

My foundation in movement began early through team sports, with basketball instilling a crave for movement from fourth grade through graduation. At UCLA, my focus shifted toward individual training as I explored functional strength, weightlifting, yoga, spin, and Pilates (mat and Lagree), primarily within group fitness settings across California, where I discovered the power of shared energy flow in a room—a different kind of team sport.

With over 15 years of personal practice and formal certifications (NASM CPT, Yoga Alliance 200HR RYT, Inside Flow), I teach with precision, control, and intention, shaped by firsthand experience across modalities. I’m drawn to the moment when effort creates awareness, breath anchors movement, and consistency transforms routine into results and into purpose. I found balance midst education and career demands only through disciplined training, and my goal is to guide clients towards discovering movement as a daily non-negotiable and the norm, shifting any discomfort felt from showing up to training to the prospect of missing it. Witnessing the impact of preventable health challenges experienced by loved ones firsthand has deepened my commitment to fitness as a tool for longevity and a daily ingredient as the only way to go.

Expect intentional programming, move-to-the-beat cueing, meticulous attention to form, and an environment designed to build focus, strength, resilience, and trust in your body.

Wellness tip: Sustainable fitness and performance are built through balance and range. The broader your exposure to different training modalities, the stronger you will feel and look as these modalities reinforce one another: use the Megaformer to train deep stabilizers and time under tension; functional training to build strength and endurance; yoga to support mobility and performance; meditation to reconnect mind and body; and endurance work to build stamina. Move every single day, a different way each day.
